Custom classes: grades 1-12 (non-ESL) (Ages 5-18)

Tutoring Plan 

• Some students that I work with aren't currently taking English classes and would like to be ready for schoolwork next semester or year. Some are also seeking support for English homework they're dealing with at the moment. 

• For these students, I offer custom classes, which unlike homework assistance classes are not based on homework that students bring in regularly. I provide my own assignments/activities based on what I believe would benefit the student. 

• Custom homework typically involves learning to read and write different kinds of texts (short stories, poems, reports, news articles, advertisements, and others) across a variety of genres (horror, sci-fi, comedy). I like to read and write, and I like encouraging students to produce written works themselves. I may include a media analysis component or grammar and vocabulary components, though this is not typically the key interest or focus.
