Math (grades 1-9) & equivalents (i.e. adult learners)

Students seek out math tutoring up to the 9th grade level for several reasons:

​

  • Mature students (15 and older) may not have a good background in math and need it to finish high school, complete college course work, or pass some sort of test to enter higher education or complete a work credential 

  • Students may have a strong background in math but want to improve themselves (i.e. a grade 5 student seeking out classes in grade 6 math before the upcoming semester)

  • Students may struggle with math for various reasons (i.e. learning disabilities, general lack of knowledge). ​

Approaches to addressing student problems

  • At this time, my only approach towards teaching math is to provide question sets for homework practice, as well as supplemental readings, and online instructions for how to complete math problems.

Terms and Conditions

​

  • Online classes (Zoom software)

    • $43/hr for all ages and levels 

  • In person classes (at your home, library, coffee-shop, basically wherever you prefer)

    • $43/hr + cost of parking, $17/hr for time spent commuting, and $17/hr for time spent setting up wherever we decide to do classes (contact me for a specific quote for your particular situation)​

  • I'm available Mon-Thurs for classes. Contact to book a slot. There are no cancellation fees or requirements to do make-up classes. Cancel and reschedule whenever without issue. Payment is expected after each class is completed (or upfront for a series of classes, if preferred). Scheduling is flexible according to a student's availability (you can book classes whenever the student is available). At this time, I am the only tutor working at English Tutor Toronto, me (David), the person writing this sentence :).
